Smoke alarm compliance certificates for QLD rentals and sales.
Photoelectric, interconnected, hardwired or 10-year battery. We supply, install, certify.
QLD smoke alarm law in plain English
The 2017 QLD smoke alarm legislation is currently in effect for all property sales and rentals. To be compliant, your property must have smoke alarms that are:
- Photoelectric (not ionisation)
- Interconnected (if one sounds, they all sound)
- Hardwired or powered by a non-removable 10-year battery
- Installed in every bedroom, hallways connecting bedrooms, and on every storey
What we do
1. Audit
We assess your current alarms against the QLD legislation requirements.
2. Supply & Install
We supply compliant units, install them in the correct locations, and interconnect them.
3. Certify
As licensed electricians, we issue the official compliance certificate required for your sale or lease.
Why an electrician matters
Smoke alarms must be installed correctly to ensure they function when needed and comply with the law. Handymen cannot legally perform hardwired installations. We hold QLD Electrical Licence 79955, meaning the job is done right, legally compliant, and comes with a full warranty.
